Back To School!!!!!!!!!

Today is day too! Sorry I didn't post on day one, I'm just not sure who was more tired...me who was in bed by 9:30 last night or Chasity who was asleep sitting up on the couch when James got home at 5!

They had a good first day, Brie's excited cause she gets to sit by her friends Hannah S and Tete (Really Terrian) in class. And mom is excited cause the bad influence (who Brie just had to be best friends with) is no longer going to the school! Chasity had a good first day too. She said she sits near Lauren, even though Jeremiah and Charles are next too her but that's okay cause she knew them from last year! She's also made friends with Hannah G....who is the new Hannah in her class! Thank God that in each room one Hannah is blonde, one Hannah is brunette! Makes it easy to remember who is who!







My routine has gotten totally off with the girls back in school! My last two mornings have been a little crazy with me always feeling like I forgot something! This morning I was freaking that I left my straightener on.....I couldn't remember turning it off.....so what do I do but call my mother, who was going to the dentist anyway to go to my house and check and make sure it was off! Yes it was, but I wouldn't have made it through the day without worrying, thank God for retirement! And thank MOM!

This one of Brie is kind of blurry , I think the climate change from outside to inside the school fogged up my lense, and I didn't notice it!





I'm still just having a hard time fathoming the fact that I have a 4th AND 1st grader! They are growing up way too fast!!!



We've decided to go to Kentucky State Fair on Sunday with his family......So that should be an adventure!!!!! But I'm looking forward to it with the kids!!!

It's that Night~ The back to school night!

Remember this night when you were little, you would lay wide awake in your room thinking about the next day. You get that little twinge in your stomach because your nervous! You can't sleep, how can you sleep tomorrow is the first day of school!!!!! Awwwwwww!!

Okay anyway I'm sure that's what my kids are feeling now , well at least 2/3's of them!

We got the girls stuff all ready for their big day tomorrow! Brie is now entering 4th grade and Chasity will be in the 1st! I can't believe I have two kids in elementary school already!!!! When did that happen!! Give me a couple more years and I'll have all three of them in there!

The girls were getting really excited when we put all their stuff in there backpacks and labeled everything with their name on it!




They also already decided they are taking lunch the first day, guess the hot dogs didn't sound to appetizing to them, that or they want to try out their new lunch boxes!




I did get the girls a little surprise for the girls for their first day!!!!! Tinkerbell purses the girls just loved them!!!




Well Mommy better get to bed she's got to get up early to get the girlies off to school. I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow with lots of pictures!

A Nice Weekend!

It's been just a whirlwind since Friday!! I had work as usually then I had to rush home where James was bringing home our new couch and then heading off to the school for the girls orientation as well as running to my bunco games afterwards!


Back to the couch I'll say the couch is new to us, my Aunt and Uncle were getting a new one and asked if we wanted their old one. Well Sure! We'd been wanting to get a new couch but I was holding James off until Aaron was about 5, so that way it was at less risk! Anyway it's an awesome couch and I love it!




Aaron seems to really be sold on it too! He's using it to it's fullest!




On another note I did want to keep our old couch and put it downstairs, it was an awesome couch to sleep on! BUT, when we tried to get it into the basement we couldn't even get it down the stairs it was so big...so right now it's sitting in my backyard....yes I know and I don't want to hear any hick Kentucky jokes, James said tonight he feels ghetto! My dad is suppose to take care of it for me sometime this week.




Our garden is about done! Things are starting to die off, we didn't do well our tomatoes this year, but it's a live and learn experience, we thrived in zucchini though and did pronounce 1 good size watermelon!





Aaron is the child that is back home! Well he did beg last night to go to stay the night with Granny and Papaw so we dropped him off about 8:30 last night and then we went over to some friends house to have a couple drinks and just hang out! The Strawberry Daiqueries really hit the spot! And then we got Aaron back first thing this morning when he woke up!



We've had a nice afternoon and evening , the heat has let up some so we spent some times in the backyard tonight! James even put some water in the pool and him and Aaron had a water fight. I think Aaron won, because James was wetter than him!





This was James form of outside air conditioning!



And why do I feel like it's too early for the leaves to have started to turn already! Before we know it it's going to start getting cold outside! Honestly Fall I think is my favorite time of the year, I use to have a hard time deciding between spring, summer and fall, but I associate more fun things with Fall....




Aaron's been so fun today this weekend, he's really been listening well and been a good boy! He's getting so big I was just watching him tonight, he's a riot....tonight after he took a shower he goes I need my comb and brush please, it's blue. So I got him that and had to take a few pictures and then he goes, "Um could you please stop that"....well he was at least polite about it, but he already is getting tired of mom and the camera!





Well I guess I'm off to the couch to snuggle with my boys! The girls will be back home tomorrow and I'm sure I'm in for a busy day because they start school on Tuesday! So tomorrow night will be preparing to get ready for their first day of school. I am just in awe....my kids growing up way to fast!

Ho Hum Thursday!!

Well needless to say a clean house is over rated! I mean seriously! I'm always saying when the kids grow up then my house will be clean....and yeah it will, but it will be pretty boring too! Mon-Fri I don't go out and do much usually just because I work all week and by the time I get home and get dinner ready there is not much left. But this week since I haven't had kids, I still didn't want to go out and do much. The temps are into the 100's here and humidity is not good, so I'm hibernating. Plus the past two nights James has had a side-job so I've been home alone and bored out of my mind, I've cleaned, I've washed, I've read, I've played on the computer!




Last night even though it's been so hot, I decided I'd fix James dinner at 10pm when he got home! NOOO I am not that doting wife! lol Just ask James...most nights if he works late, I will throw him a few pot pies in the oven...or leave him a plate of leftover...but normally me and the kids eat and then he's on his own. But since the kids weren't home and I didn't have to feed and get them to bed...I felt like being nice!

So this great chick Adriana, suggested this awesome marinade!!!




And it's great!!!! James really liked it! Though I think my choices for what went with it could have been better. But we had zucchini in the fridge that I needed to fry from the garden and I didn't want it to go bad so I fixed that, and broccoli. I think though that I might fix some rice next time and maybe try dicing up the chicken and fix it with some pineapple and possible green peppers! We will definitely be trying it again!



Just got off the phone with the kids for tonight! I asked Chasity if she was ready to come home and she said not yet! I will get to see the girls tomorrow night for there orientation, but they are then staying at my parents til Monday morning. Aaron will be home Saturday morning though. This doesn't happen very often that all three of them are gone for this long, and can't you tell it's driving me nuts!

Chasity said she'd been playing with Adam all day (the little boy who lives next door to my parents (though honestly him and his family are like family) and wanted to call and tell me. She's so funny on the phone, every other time I say something it's WHAT? Cause she's busy paying attention to other people who are there! Aaron had to talk too, he wanted to tell me her hurt his finger on the picnic table and there was a little blood, but he said he'd be okay. He's getting so big!

Tomorrow is a busy day, work as usual (though Friday's are our easy days) then I have the girls school orientation and then right after that I have my monthly Bunco with the girls...so I better get to bed!

What's Your True Love's Name?

Well I haven't talked about the love of my life yet! Isn't it amazing when the kids are staying at grandma and grandpa's that you don't even know what to do with yourself since you have free time! Me and James have spent a lot of time together these past two weeks....the kids are back at their grandparents getting in there time that's about to go away with school starting. I often times get aggravated at James, just little petty stuff, nothing really important, and sometimes just because he knows how to push my buttons and does it for fun sometimes....but in all reality I can't imagine my life without him. I mean I honestly just can't envision not having him around. He's become such a big part of my life and I can honestly say I'm more in love with him than the day I married him.



He's such a great dad, and a wonderful husband! I get so frustrated with him sometimes because he's so short on talking about how he feels and things, that occasionally I start to wonder if he really does care....then he'll do something so teeny tiny, and probably he thinks isn't that significant, which means more to me than all the world!

I remember one morning I went out to my car to go to work, and yeah on numerous occasions I hadn't gotten in my car to find that he left me flowers or a card, no occasion just because....well this particular morning I got in my car and he had picked flowers out of the front yard...and on a scrap piece of school notebook paper, he must have found in my car, and with a pencil no less...he wrote a note "A little something to remind you of me while I'm gone" Love James "Sorry, Spur of the moment"

I remember that morning he'd been hurrying try to get ready to go out of town on a job, BUT he was thinking about me!! That meant so much, to this day I keep that piece of folded up paper in my wallet, and if I ever start thinking he just doesn't care, I get that out and read it. He's not a man big on alot of words, but he has an amazing heart. And that heart is what I find myself falling in love again over and over again!



I have a friend that once was telling me how I had the perfect marriage, we never fight, we never argue....well we do....I guess one we just really don't broadcast it....but even though we fight passionately , we love passionately too...we don't hold grudges....I might get so ticked off at him and explode, and go into one of my tirades one minute....by in the next minute he'll make some stupid joke or do something silly and I'll just start laughing and of course we are kissing the next.
It's not to say we don't have problems, every relationship has problems, we've sure had out share, and rough patches....but one thing I can count on is that if we can just get through that rough patch, even if it seems like it will never end that we can make it!

I honestly and truly believe that quote! I can't tell you in how many instances I have fallen in love with him again! When each one of our kids were born, when he does something so small, just a nice gesture, occasionally with a sweet kiss. My heart still melts every time he kisses me on the forehead, I literally could tear up!





So Now I will stop gushing cause I need to go frost some cupcakes for work tomorrow and wake my sleeping beauty up off the couch. (Snoring is not really becoming of him)

Here are just a few random pics from my parents 4th of July Party

They ARE HOME!!

This will end up being a very long blog, mostly with more pictures than words! Anyway the kids are home! I was so excited, and since they had been gone and I had gotten everything I needed done (except laundry, still working on that) I was devoting the whole day to them!

When they got home, James set up the sprinkler in the backyard while he blew up a decent size inflatable pool. The kids were having a blast, and it was so super hot today!!! I took quite a few pictures of them playing out back today!















And they got a couple of me! James tries to stay away from the camera action!!



This year was the first year we grew a garden! I'm actually amazed it's done as well as it has! We planted just a few things to try this year! We got two tomato plants, 1 banana pepper plant, 1 cucumber plant, 1 watermelon plant, 1 zucchini plant!









And boy are they yummy!!!! I've fried up some of the zucchini and Oh My God what a difference!! I think we are going to go bigger next year! This year was a trial and now that we know we can do it, we can expand!


After the kids got done with the water works, we decided to make pupcakes (Chas has always called them this, because of Strawberry Shortcake) Chocolate with chocolate icing, yummmy!!!















We decided to go a little crazy and use Valentine Day cups and we decorated them with Valentine stuff and the plastic decorations that were on my going away cake at BMA!! Aren't we a crazy bunch!






Can't you tell I really missed the kids while they were gone! I had a blast doing all this stuff today! After we got done with the cupcakes, we did an art project!!!



They are so imaginative! Aaron is really changing with this stuff, he's more hands on instead of just sitting in my lap! He loves to make his own little creations. Chasity as always is extravagant! And Brie's is simple but in a beautiful way....their artwork is just as different as they are!


By now we are trying to wind them down....so we decide Family movie night!!! As we all piled on the couch to watch Charlotte's Web, which still causes me to tear up!!!

I had to explain to Aaron what every animal ate through out the whole entire movie, and then I had to explain to Chasity why Charlotte died.....Brie is the only one who will just watch a movie! I will miss these days one day!

We munched on popcorn enjoyed our flick!





Well that didn't totally settle them down! The girls wanted to be painted! Their finger and toe nail's that is! Aaron is nuts about watching them get their nails painted! He would almost want me to still paint his if James wouldn't tease him too bad....I think it's just the whole paint factor!

Chas has such beautiful hands and feet!

I really had such a good day with them, and they wore me out!!! Life had been getting so consuming with everything else, work, housework, events, things, kids, life, just general mundaneness...so I guess the break gave me a chance to get back to what really matters...and figure out I need to do more with the kids. I'm not sure every day will be exactly like today, but I need to make it a point to do something, even 1 thing with them everyday! Something they will store in their memory bank and remember 20 years from now!


Well it's after 11 here, and I got one more load of towels to throw in the wash before I head back to bed! James is asleep on the couch so I'll need to get him up and I might read for a few minutes, I'm still pretty awake, but work comes early on a Monday morning and I know I'll be sleepy in the morning, so the sooner I get in bed the sooner I know I will actually fall asleep!

Sorry this was so long, I've been really chatty tonight!
